Angel?

My son left his bed and went to the couch in the middle of the night. I found him this morning sleeping away. I love to look at the kids when they are sleeping, they look so peaceful. He is my Angel! Now, I just have to remember that later today when he is fighting with his sisters.

Last week in the kindergarten room we made Green Eggs and Ham, in honor of Dr. Suess' birthday in March. The kids were all excited to see the green eggs, and begged for more.

Take The Time

Most often on our busy lives we tend not to take the time to see the beauty around us. I was driving my daughter to school this morning and on the way home saw this beautiful sunrise. I was amazed by the beauty that God has given us each morning with the light purples, soft blues, bright oranges, and a hint of yellow shining on the horizon. Frustrated

have you ever been so frustrated at some one that you just want to tell them off. But you hold your tongue because that is the polite thing to do. I did what I was supposed to do and the other person does not follow through on what she should (and still probably wont)do.AAAAAHHHHH

Mean Mom Award...Again

Well I've managed to get the mean mom award again today. I told both of my younger kids that they would not be going to the school skating party tonight. Now I'm the one that's mean. I'm not the one who woke up this morning acting like possessed demons.

Rules For The Bath

1. Occupancy of more than 46 persons at the same time is prohibited.

2. All bathers please refrain from eating the soap.

3. If there is a ring in the tub, please answer it.

4. Guest towels are to be used only by guests. Non-guests please dry hands on your clothes.

5. Singing in the shower is permitted, but dancing is frowned upon.

6. Please remove rubber ducky after each bath.

Girl Scout Cookie Fan

I came home today from selling cookies and saw my cat in an empty box. Guess he likes cookies as much as we do.

O The Memories

Looking back on the pictures in my computer today I came across this picture of my son from this past summer. We were at the county fair watching the horse races when he decided to start swinging at some wasps. Well you can guess by the picture who won. He got stung on the eyelid and on top of his head. This was what he looked like the next day. Poor boy. Then, three days later he was swinging at more wasps. Guess he didn't learn.

Fancy Cat Bed

Ok, whoever said kids and cats are not alike, look at my cat. He has a bed where he usually lays in, but now he prefers a cardboard box lined with a paper sack. He would rather lay in this then his soft bed. Kind of like your kids, when they are toddlers and you buy them a really cool gift,and they play with the box. Makes me wonder why did I bother getting him a bed.

New Penny

In honor of Abraham Lincoln's 200th Birthday and the upcoming Presidents Day, the U.S. Mint has come out with some new pennies which depict the life of Abe Lincoln. I think they are really neat and will give kids a visual image of life as it was in Lincoln's day.

Fun Day

A couple weeks ago our school was closed due to weather, so I took the kids to a local fun center. We ate lunch there and the kids played all the games and won tickets to "cash" in for prizes.






Here is "H" with her fistfull of tickets after only one game. She hit the jackpot.

Here is "M" driving a race car game. Once he found out it did not give tickets he went on to other games that did.

We all had a good time. Where else can you spend a little money for lunch, games and prizes, and build memories all at the same time.

Monday

Words

We hear and use words all the time. Thousands a day, probably millions if you are a fast talker.
Well when I hear words of encouragment, that really makes my day.
I received an email from a lady at church that really encourged me at a time that I need it.
Sometimes I think I dont make a differance or that I would be missed if I wasnt around, and just the time that thought enters my head, someone says something that really helps.

He did it again

Well if you have read my earlier post about my puppy, you knew I was aggravated with him about chewing things up. Well within the last week, he has eaten or destroyed three things.







This is what I found when we came home the other evening. he tore to sheads his pillow that was in his cage. He was up to his knees in fluff.








He also got ahold of my oldest daughters i pod charger and chewed that into pieces. (But my daughter was also told to pick it up off the floor or the dog may eat it). Guess he thought it looked good.

Then one morning I found this hand and foot on the floor. It once belonged to my daughters barbie doll. He definitely has a chewing problem.

Goofy Kids

My kids discovered a little closet above my big closet in my bedroom today. I use it to store extra blankets in. Well they decided to climb up in there and play in it as a club house. I walked into my bedroom and this is what I saw.......

Remote Fights

Who has the remote?

Well if your in our house its usually my son, who thinks its his prize possesion.

Why is it that kids think they can control the universe just because they are holding the remote?

And, when they are asked to share the remote with other family members they carry on like your asking them to give up an arm.

Well I think it is time to toss the remote and the tv to the curb, that way there will be one less fight in our house.

Cinnamon Rolls

This past saturday my oldest daughter and I made homemade cinnamon rolls.

She did most of the work, even the kneeding of the dough. (Which she said took forever)

Stupid Dog

I have not been able to write anything on my blog since last week because my puppy decided to chew through my cord to my computer keyboard.
He has a bad habit of chewing trough electric cords.
He has already chewed through my cord to my digital camera printer dock,(which I am having a hard time replacing), my sisters cord to her lamp, and now the keyboard.
I think he has a death wish by electrocution, which somehow he has avoided so far.
So, i finally got a new(used) keyboard, and he better not chew through this one.
Any suggestions on how to keep him from chewing through cords.(besides pulling his teeth)

Yes I know, Its been about 2 months since I blogged. Dont know why I stopped, just got out of the habit.

Nothing special has been going on, just the normal school/work/home routine.

The holidays were good. It was nice to spend some time with friends and family.

2009 seems to be going good so far. (Course its only day 11)

Nighttime Critters

The other night when we came home my son noticed something running across the yard and up onto the small tree/bush. I told him it was probably a cat. He said "No mom, that's no cat"

After we got out of the car, I noticed he was right.

There was an opossum staring back at us.



I think these are ugly critters. But I know God had some sort of purpose for them, altho I don't know what it could be.








The kids thought it was cool to look at the critter up close. They talked about his teeth, and even his little "hand".



Then my son, who is always coming up with good questions asked "Why they were called possums if they were spelled with an "O" at the beginning?" I answered with my motherly knowledge and said "I don't know" .



Anyone know why???????

Tuesday Morning

This is the conversation that took place in our house this morning 2 minutes before the bus arrived.
Me: Kids, coat and backpack, hats and gloves.
Child 1: Wheres my coat?
Child 2: Wheres my backpack?
Me: Its probably in your room.
C1: Mom, did you sign my homework book?
C2: Did you sign mine?
Me: I don't know, check.
C2 : I need a snack .
Me: I need you to get your coat and things on.
C2: I cant find my hat.
Me: Its right here, get it on.
C1 : Can you open the door?(He had his gloves on)
C2: Did you get me a snack? I don't like that one, I want something else.
Me: You need to hurry, the bus will be here any minute. And I'm not taking you to school if you miss the bus.(Yeah right!!!)
C1: Can you open the door mom,please!
Me: I will when the bus is here.
C1: But I want to go out now.
Me: Its to cold, just wait in the house.
C2 : Can you zip my coat, I cant with my gloves on.
Me: (Looking out the window) Bus is here, have a good day! Love you and see you after school.
C1: Bye
C2: Whats for supper tonight?
Me: Goodbye.
